What I build
AI automation
Workflows that read incoming messages, pull out the details, log them and hand the hard cases to a person. I build them in n8n and in code, and I keep a human in the loop where a wrong answer costs money.
Custom business systems
Booking platforms, CRMs, back-office tools and portals for businesses that outgrew spreadsheets. Hospital records, school ERP and government procurement are all in my past work.
Legacy systems and integrations
Old PHP apps, brittle deploys and systems that nobody dares touch. I audit them, fix what is cheapest to fix, and connect them to the tools you use now.

Who is Lal Chand?
I'm a full-stack engineer in Islamabad, Pakistan, and the founder of Codic Systems. I've worked in software since 2019, across travel, healthcare, education, real estate, finance and government. These days I build AI automation and custom business systems.
What do you build?
I build software that takes work off people: AI-assisted workflows, booking and CRM systems, back-office tools, and the integrations that connect them. Past examples include a multi-module hospital EMR, an education ERP, a certificate verification platform and an open-source WhatsApp enquiry workflow.
What is Codic Systems, and how is it different from this site?
Codic Systems (SMC-Private) Limited is the company I founded, incorporated on 27 August 2026. I'm the only founder. Client projects go through Codic at codicsystems.com. This site is my personal one: my background, my writing and my open-source work.
Where did you work before Codic?
I was at Emenac Inc. from September 2019 to 10 February 2026. I started in frontend, moved to full stack, and ended as a senior engineer and project lead. I've also freelanced on Upwork since 2021, where I hold a 100% Job Success Score.
Which industries have you worked in?
Travel is the biggest: I've built 50+ websites for travel agencies in the UK, US and Gulf. Beyond that I've built web apps for healthcare, education, real estate, finance, automotive and government, plus a certificate verification platform for an Albanian certification body.
How do you use AI tools like Claude Code and Cursor on client work?
As assistants, not as the author. They draft code, explain unfamiliar code and speed up repetitive edits. I read every change before it goes anywhere, I run the tests myself, and I keep secrets and customer data out of prompts. I wrote about the details, including what breaks, in an article on this site.
How does a project start?
With an email to info@codicsystems.com describing the problem and the systems you already use. I ask questions first. Codic's usual starting points are a Discovery Sprint or a System Audit, so we both know what we're dealing with before anyone commits to a build.
What won't you build?
Anything meant to deceive or harm people: spam and unsolicited bulk messaging, fake reviews, scraping personal data without a lawful basis, or tools for getting around someone else's security. I also won't promise results I can't measure.
Do you work with clients outside Pakistan?
Yes, most of my clients are abroad, mainly in the UK, US and Gulf. I work on Pakistan time (UTC+5), which overlaps well with UK and Gulf working hours and leaves the US to email and recorded updates. Client work is contracted through Codic.
Do you teach coding?
I've taught coding to international students and hold 21 five-star teaching reviews. I wrote up what worked for adults and non-engineers in an article on this site. If you want to ask about lessons, message me directly.
Is any of your work open source?
Yes. Codic Systems publishes four repositories on GitHub: a WhatsApp travel enquiry workflow for n8n, a toolkit for Pakistani IT exporters, a browser-based PDF compressor called redmoon-pdf, and a learning path for engineers entering travel technology.
